Purchasing

  • How our pricing works

To make purchasing easier, we have simplified our pricing. You only pay for what you want and Teachers Health Fund members receive great discounts!

Every pair of glasses purchased comes with:

  • a hard spectacle case
  • microfibre cleaning cloth

AND we will post your order anywhere in Australia completely FREE!

Frames

We now have our No Gap optical range online! As a Teachers Health Fund member you can access the same great No Gap range online that we have available in our Eyecare centres. We are continually growing and updating this range so you can access great models to suit your style.

Lenses

Prescription glasses are personalised and we want your glasses to be perfect, so currently we only have Single Vision glasses available online.

Bifocals and Progressive lenses are more complex so we can’t supply them yet, however you can buy the frame only and get your lenses fitted at your local optometrist or at one of our Teachers Health Fund health centres.

Because we want to give you the best possible vision in your new glasses, if your prescription is higher than -4.00 or +4.00 we need to use a thinner lens material (1.56). Because this material is more advanced, it is slightly more expensive so there is an additional $40 charge per pair.

Extras on my lenses

Everybody is different, so you can customise your lenses by choosing  the lens extras to suit your lifestyle. Here’s what we have on offer:

  • Anti-reflection Coating

All of our lenses come with a scratch resistant and UV protected coating included in the price. We also recommend adding an anti-reflective coating for clearer vision when using the computer, reading under artificial lighting, watching TV or driving at night. The anti-reflective coating dramatically reduces surface reflections from artificial lights and improves the appearance of your glasses.

  • Transitions (Photochromatic lenses)

Transitions lenses are clear when you’re indoors and darken like sunglasses when you’re outdoors. They activate in natural light and block 100% of UVA and UVB rays to protect your eyes from the sun. They offer the convenience of one pair of glasses for all occasions.

  • What’s the difference with thinner lenses?

With prescriptions over -4.00 or +4.00, purchasing thinner lenses will significantly improve the appearance of your glasses and make them lighter and more comfortable to wear.
